Decide in your heart of hearts what really excites and challenges you, and start moving your life in that direction. Every decision you make, from what you eat to what you do with your time tonight, turns you into who you are tomorrow, and the day after that. Look at who you want to be, and start sculpting yourself into that person. You may not get exactly where you thought you’d be, but you will be doing things that suit you in a profession you believe in. Don’t let life randomly kick you into the adult you don’t want to become.

An important piece of advice I want to give you as you begin your career as a weightlifter; do not get involved in bad relationships. Whether it is your girlfriend, fiance, friends, or family. Poisonous relationships will be your downfall because I’ve learned the hard way. I’ve had my biggest slumps when I got involved with these types of people. You need to surround yourself with people who want to succeed or want you to succeed. Drop the people who bring you down, they’re a cancer, the longer you keep them around the worse it gets.

A good place to start is to extend to others the sympathy commensurate to that which you expect the world to give you.

The silence is another way of saying to keep your mind stayed on God all the time. God is the silence and you are that. Feel the silence right now. You can feel it. It’s a thing of beauty. You know when you’re getting into the true silence, you begin to become happier, and happier and happier for no reason. It makes no difference what’s going on in the world. The world is in one place and you’re in another place. In the deep silence you are identifying with the substratum of creation. Always remember to go into the silence. A sage is always in the silence. A sage may be talking, listening, partaking of activities, but to the sage there’s only silence.
You and your purpose in life are the same thing. Your purpose is to be you.
